FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What are HCP's hours?

Hope Chapel Preschool hours for our 2's and 3's classes are 9am to 12pm.  The hours for our 4's and TK classes are 9am to 1pm.  We do not offer an early drop off or late pick up program.

Does HCP have a carpool for students?

For our 4's and TK classes we have carpool that begins the first week of October.  The TK class has morning and afternoon carpool, and the 4's classes only have afternoon carpool.  For all other classes, parents bring their children to the classroom in the mornings and pick them up there at dismissal.

Do children have to be potty trained?

Children enrolled in the 3's, 4's, and TK classes must be potty trained and able to take care of their own bathroom needs. This means they must wear underwear to school and not diapers or pull-ups.

Can I bring a special treat for my child's birthday?

Due to allergy concerns and the safety of our children, we do NOT allow any outside to be brought into the classroom (unless it is a classroom party where all parents will be present).  We do make sure each child is celebrated for their birthday by receiving a birthday crown, eating their snack off the special birthday plate, and singing Happy Birthday to them.

What is the HCP inclement weather policy?

We will follow the Wake County School System regarding closings for inclement weather.  If Wake County has a 2 hour delay, we will have a 1 hour delay.  If Wake County has a 3 hour delay, we will be closed.  Please check your email and see our Facebook Page or website for updated information. We do not follow the Wake County make up schedule.  If we miss more than 5 school days, we will make up to 5 days of school at the end of May.  No tuition will be refunded for missed days of schools.

Does HCP operate on a particular school calendar?

With a few exceptions, we follow the Wake County Public School's traditional calendar.

What is HCP's ESL (English as a Second Language) policy?

Hope Chapel Preschool is happy to accommodate a few students where English is not the primary language spoken at home.  Immersion in a classroom is a great way to help your child learn to speak English.  Please let the director know prior to registration if your child does not speak English.

Is HCP equipped for children with special needs?

Hope Chapel Preschool is not presently equipped or trained to accept students who are developmentally challenged outside of their chronological age level.  Therefore, children must be the developmental, chronological and cognitive age of the class they enter. All students who are receiving any developmental assistance must present all evaluations to the Director prior to entry or contact the Director concerning when evaluations will be available.

Is HCP equipped for children with special medical/health conditions?

Children with medical needs will be evaluated on a case by case basis.  Admission will be determined by the Director and the Preschool Board.  All medical conditions must be disclosed on the registration form prior to enrollment.

** Hope Chapel Preschool reserves the right to not enroll/withdraw a child at the discretion of the Director and the Preschool board.**
